Problem visualisieren

Warum:

Das dem Projekt zugrundeliegende Problem verstehen und vermitteln (vgl. Kerzner, 2017).

Wie:

Im Definieren moderiert entwickeln und verankern. Im weiteren Verlauf als Baustein für kurze Einführung in das Projekt nutzen (vgl. Project Management Institute, 2021).

Was:

Am Anfang eines jeden Projektes steht ein Problem. Ob Sie dieses Problem verstanden haben, zeigt sich unter anderem daran, ob Sie es jemandem erklären können (vgl. Doran, 1981). Die Analyse-Fragen und das Visualisieren hilft, einen umfänglichen Blick auf den Sachverhalt zu entwickeln. Im ersten Schritt werden Aspekte der Visualisierung gesammelt durch das Beantworten der Analyse-Fragen:

  • Wer und wie viele sind im Umfeld des Problems beteiligt?
  • Was und wie viel im Umfeld des Problems beteiligt?
  • Wann und wo tritt das Problem auf?
  • Wie (bei welchem Tun/Prozess) und wie oft tritt das Problem auf?
  • Was folgt (Auswirkung des Problems) und wie oft?

Eventuell führen nicht alle Fragen zu verwertbaren Antworten (vgl. Kerzner, 2017). Im zweiten Schritt werden die Aspekte angeordnet und im dritten Schritt zueinander in Beziehung gesetzt. Oft löst dies weitere Fragen aus und macht Lücken oder Brüche in der bildhaften Darstellung sichtbar. Vor allem werden weitere Nutzende des Projektergebnisses deutlich (vgl. Project Management Institute, 2021).

Why:

Understand and communicate the underlying problem of the project (see Kerzner, 2017).

How:

Develop and anchor this in Definition through moderated discussions, using it later as a foundation for a brief project introduction (see Project Management Institute, 2021).

What:

At the beginning of every project, there is a problem. Whether you have understood this problem can be seen, among other things, in whether you can explain it to someone (see Doran, 1981). Analysis questions and visualization help develop a comprehensive view of the issue. In the first step, visualization aspects are collected by answering the analysis questions:

  • Who and how many are involved in the problem’s environment?
  • What and how much is involved in the problem’s environment?
  • When and where does the problem occur?
  • How (in what action/process) and how often does the problem occur?
  • What follows (impact of the problem) and how often?

Not all questions may lead to useful answers (see Kerzner, 2017). In the second step, the aspects are arranged, and in the third step, they are connected to each other. This often raises further questions and reveals gaps or breaks in the visual representation. Above all, additional users of the project outcome become evident (see Project Management Institute, 2021).
